Join the growing team at SOUTS, a privately owned organization supporting NDIS participants in the Western Downs. As a Support Worker, you’ll be a key part of helping our clients feel empowered and supported in their health and well-being journey.
About the Role
A Support Worker helps clients attend and communicate during appointments. They offer support before, during, and after the visit but do not give medical advice or make decisions.
In this role, you will help clients:
Attend appointments when their carer is not
available
Choose whether they want the Support
Worker to wait outside or join them during the
appointment
Take notes during the appointment and
share them with the client or carer
Communicate better with their doctor or
health provider
Prepare questions or important notes before
the appointment
Make sure their concerns and questions are
shared clearly with the doctor
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with NDIS participants or in disability support (preferred)
Friendly, respectful, and compassionate approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Good note-taking and listening skills
Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
Able to work independently and follow directions
Comfortable using mobile devices or apps to record notes and schedules
Able to work from our Tara office and travel locally as needed
